Pink Assistance Fund

The Loudoun Breast Health Network (LBHN) is proud to announce the creation of its “Pink Assistance Fund”.  The Pink Assistance Fund was established by the LBHN to provide the residents of Loudoun County with financial assistance incurred during treatment for breast health issues.

Assistance is available in the following areas:Bras, puffs, wigs, prostheses, mammograms, medical bills, food cards, utilities, rent or mortgage, transportation costs (car payments, taxi, gas card), and other incidentals.

Applicants who have been diagnosed and/or have undergone treatment within the past twelve months are eligible to apply for assistance. Click here to learn more about the PAF program.

 


New Beginnings Breast Cancer Survivors’ Retreat

On Saturday, October 1st, 2011 the Loudoun Breast Health Network (LBHN), in partnership with Inova Loudoun Hospital, Inova Breast Care Institute and the American Cancer Society, hosted the 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Survivors’ Retreat – “New Beginnings”!


This free event celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness in Loudoun County by providing expert speakers on the topic of “Genetics and Breast Cancer”, support information for survivors and their families, and community resource information. Breast cancer survivors were able to receive free wigs, bras, cosmetic makeovers, scarves, hats and expert bra fit consultations. Free seated massages, yoga demonstration classes and breast self-exam instructions were also available. LBHN would like to thank all of the many volunteers and participants who helped to make this year’s event such a great success.

 


DECA Powder Puff Game - Stone Bridge High School

On Tuesday, October 18th, 2011, Stone Bridge High School’s DECA Club hosted a Pink Powder Puff Football Game. The Stone Bridge senior girls played the junior girls in a game of flag football. The SBHS DECA Club held various fundraising raffles throughout the week and sold many “Pink Powder Puff items” in their school store. They also “Pinked Out” the school on October 12th. SBHS DECA has designated Loudoun Breast Health Network as their recipient for all of their proceeds from this event. LBHN Representatives were in attendance at the game to show their support and appreciation, and to distribute information. All proceeds to Loudoun Breast Health Network will be used to assist women in Loudoun County who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The Loudoun Breast Health Network would like to thank SBHS DECA for their generosity, hard work and for their dedication to help women who are facing breast cancer in Loudoun County!


DECA’s “got pink?” - Broad Run High School


During the BRHS’s Spartan football game, DECA Students sponsored their “got pink?” event to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. The event took on a carnival like atmosphere and was the columniation of a week-long celebration of for the entire Spartan community.
DECA students sold black and pink t-shirts with the catch phrase “got pink?” on them to help raise awareness and money. The LBHN wants to thank Ms. Cheryl Daley and all the DECA students for making us a recipient, for the second year, of a portion of the proceeds, which will help with the “Pink Assistance Fund”.

 


DECA PINK WALK - Loudoun County High School

On Thursday, October 20th, 2011, Loudoun County High School’s DECA Club, with assistance from the Senior Class Council, organized and facilitated an exciting Pink Walk on the track at the school.

The 104 walkers paid a registration fee, raised donations, and received a Think Pink, Loudoun County Raider t-shirt designed by Cheers Sports. Students signed up to walk from 9:30-10:30 a.m. or 11:00-11:30 a.m. LCHS marketing student, Brandon Marrotte was the DJ. Water bottles were provided by Water 2 Go of Ashburn. In addition to supplying a Think Pink t-shirt to the walkers, the shirts were also sold at the football game, in the Raider Trader School Store, and at the DIG PINK volleyball event.

The LCHS DECA Club designated the Loudoun Breast Health Network (LBHN) as the recipient of all of the proceeds of this event since all of the money goes to the Loudoun County community to help those in need. The LBHN is excited to accept these funds to support and assist residents of Loudoun County with breast cancer. GO RAIDERS!!!!!
