Breast Cancer Tea & Fashion Show
The Loudoun Breast Health Network (LBHN), in conjunction with the Blue Ridge Hospice
Thrift Store announces the 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Tea & Fashion
Show. Guest speaker will be Dr. Virginia Chiantella, prominent Loudoun breast
surgeon. Music will be provided by Beyond Classical.

DECA Powder Puff Game
What: DECA Powder Puff game. Watch the Senior girls play the Junior girls in flag football.
When: October 12, 2011
Where: SBHS football stadium 6:30 pm, gates open at 6:00pm. Located at 43100 Hay Road, Ashburn, VA 20147
Why: Raising money for breast cancer awareness and the Loudoun Breast Health Network
Cost: $5 (proceeds will be donated to Loudoun Breast Health Network)
DECA will pink out the school on October 12. We will be selling Peace Love Powder Puff t-shirts, socks, sunglasses and the K9 Korner (school store) will offer a special line of pink products - slurpy cups, lanyards, hoodies and more!

Golf For Breast Cancer Awareness
Do you like to golf? Well, maybe you could golf for breast cancer awareness.
The Loudoun Breast Health Network is selling golf tickets. These tickets are
good from March through December. You can golf anytime Monday through Thursday
and Friday through Sunday after 2. Golfing will take place at the Raspberry
Falls Golf & Hunt Club. It’s $75 for each golf ticket. The Loudoun Breast
Health Network will receive $20 for each golf ticket that is sold.

A special thanks to Steve Clark, the Director of Operations, at Raspberry
Falls Golf & Hunt Club has helped several fundraising organization in
Loudoun County in the past. He gave us many suggestions to help us with our
fundraiser. Steve was the one who suggested we sell the golf tickets as well are
using our spring event as a fundraiser. Steve extended the time that the golf
tickets are valid. These golf tickets are good for 9 months, from March through
December.

Susan G.Komen 2011 Global Race for the Cure
Join the Loudoun Breast Health Network for the Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday, June 4, 2011.
THE EVENT: Walk or run in this Race for the Cure event. Simply sign up for the type of participation you are interested in. The event takes place at downtown in Washington DC.
REGISTRATION: To register online, please go to the Susan G. Komen website to register. On the right, click on "Join a Team" and enter our team name "LBHN" to find our team. To the right, click on "Join". Register online by May 24th to receive your shirt, etc. via mail (from Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure).
FREE BUS TRANSPORTATION: We are providing free bus transportation* to the event downtown DC. This is sponsored by the Loudoun Breast Health Network and the INOVA Loudoun Hospital Ladies Board. A $10 refundable deposit is required by May 30th to reserve your seat. The bus will be leaving from the INOVA Lansdowne Campus at 5:45am and will return at 11:30am.

Spring Fling
A Loudoun Breast Health Network’s Fundraiser for BREAST CANCER AWARENESS. This event will include wine and cheese as well as entertainment. A variety of baskets valued at over $150 each will be raffled off.

Breast Cancer Tea & Fashion Show for Survivors & Friends
The Loudoun Breast Health Network (LBHN), The Carver Center, and Blue Ridge Hospice will host the 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Survivors Tea and Fashion Show.
This special event will take place at Carver Center on Saturday, October 23rd from 11-2p.m. Seating is limited.
All mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, aunts and friends are invited to share an afternoon of celebrating women who have been touched by this disease. The guest speaker is Dr. Chiantella who has been a practicing general surgeon in Northern Virginia for over 20 years. Their hope is to raise enough money to purchase more wigs and bras for breast cancer survivors as well as continue to cultivate a network of women supporting each other as they journey on their road to recovery.
The Blue Ridge Hospice Thrift Store of Purcellville will present a fashion show. Featured clothing will be available for purchase. Tea, light fare and desserts will be served.
The cost is $20 per ticket or $140 for a table for 8, and they will be sold at Carver Center (200 Willie Palmer Way, Purcellville, VA 20132). Checks payable to LBHN the Loudoun Breast Health Network. For directions call the Carver Center at 571-258-3400.
Corporate donations are being sought as well as contributions from local merchants. They are hoping to present each survivor with a keepsake.

Flower and Garden Festival
The Loudoun Breast Health Network participated in Leesburg's 2010 Flower and Garden Festival, on Saturday, April 17th and Sunday, the 18th, in downtown Leesburg. People came and visited our booth for a free seed packet and some Loudoun Breast Health Network information. The booth was located in the parking lot of the Lightfoot Restaurant.
We offered spider plants and distributed information on breast cancer prevention and our work in the county. Our mission includes education, support to those undergoing breast cancer treatment, their families and caregivers.
