Women who are breast cancer survivors, who have been trained to be there for you, because they were once where you are now.
Reach to Recovery, a woman to woman breast cancer program provides support before and during treatment, a leisure bra, a temporary prosthesis, instruction for strengthening exercises, and post-surgery community resources. ALL FREE.

Support Groups
Inova Loudoun Hospital, Radiation Oncology Center
Support Groups and Programs
All programs listed, except the Man to Man group, meet at Inova Loudoun Hospital, Radiation Oncology Center (ILH-ROC), 44035 Riverside Parkway, Suite 100, Leesburg, Virginia 20176.All PROGRAMS ARE FREE. Breast Cancer Support Groups: Two groups that provide education and support to women coping with all aspects of the breast cancer experience. Both meet the fourth Monday of each month; 1) For those newly diagnosed and/or starting treatment, meets 5:00-6:30pm & 2) For those finished with treatment, or have a recurrence, or have metastatic breast cancer, meets 6:30-8pm. Please note: when speakers are invited, they will present from 6:30-7:30pm & all are welcome to attend. Both groups meet at ILH-ROC. Registration requested if attending for the first time. |

Children’s Support Programs (Life With Cancer):
- Children’s Support Group: Designed to address the unique concerns children may have when someone they love has cancer. For children 5-12 who have a family member with cancer. Meets once a week on Thursdays for eight weeks, from 4:15-5:15 p.m. at ILH-ROC. Registration is required.
- “Good Grief” (Children’s Bereavement Support Group): Designed to help children cope with a loss in their family. For children 5-12 who have a lost family member to cancer. Meets once a week on Thursdays for eight weeks, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at ILH-ROC. Registration is required.

| Gentle and Restorative Yoga Class: A gentle & restorative yoga class intended to help anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. The class will focus on increasing flexibility, strength, & circulation and improving concentration, promoting relaxation, & reducing stress. Meets weekly for 6 weeks on Thursday mornings at ILH-ROC. All participants will be required to complete and sign a Participant Information sheet & waiver form prior to attending the first class. Class size is limited and Registration is required. |

Life Beyond Diagnosis: A life coaching workshop for those diagnosed with cancer, who are exploring their full life picture and creating their “new normal.” A series of six meetings held on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00p.m at ILH-ROC. Registration is required.

Look Good....Feel Better: A program for women coping with the cosmetic side effects of chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Group meets every other month from 6:45-9:00p.m. at ILH-ROC. Registration is required.

Man to Man: A support group for men coping with prostate cancer, and their families. Group meets the second Tuesday of each month from 6:00-8:00p.m., at the Loudoun County Senior Center, Cascades Market Place. Registration is not required.

Meditation & Guided Imagery Group: A support group for those touched by cancer (patients, family, & friends). This group offers individuals the opportunity to learn about and practice the art of meditation & guided imagery. Group meets the last Tuesday of each month from 6:30-8:00p.m., at ILH-ROC. Registration in not required.

Parenting Alone Group ( Life with Cancer): For parents who have lost a spouse or partner to cancer while raising school-aged children. Meet monthly with other parents to share ideas, challenges, solutions and to hear from professionals who will share information and ideas you might find helpful. Qigong Series: For those with a cancer diagnosis and their support person. Qigong uses slow graceful movements and controlled breathing techniques to help reduce cortisol, improve blood flow, increase joint mobility, mental clarity and endurance. Classes meet on Wednesdays, from 6:30 – 8:00p.m. at ILH-ROC. Class size is limited and Registration is required.

Reiki Program: For those touched by cancer (patients, family, & friends). To help you rebalance and recharge your body’s energy systems while you relax to soothing music. Group meets on the fourth Thursday of each month from 6:45–8:00p.m. at ILH-ROC. Class size is limited and Registration is required.

Tai Chi Series: For those touched by cancer (patients, family, & friends). During this four-week course, students will learn some of the movements of the Wu-style form. Students will learn simple steps and then build on them to perform more complex movements. Supplemental exercises in breathing and postural alignment will also be shown. The main goal of the class is to get your body moving and have some fun. Classes meet on Wednesdays, from 6:30 – 8:00p.m. at ILH-ROC. Class size is limited and Registration is required. |

Life with Cancer Exercise classes: Exercise classes are available to cancer patients, survivors and their family caregivers free of charge through Life with Cancer in Leesburg, Virginia. Classes are taught by Marti Badila, Cancer Exercise Trainer, Certified Pink Ribbon Program Trainer, Registered Yoga Instructor.
